Hearing Aid Comparison in the Listening Lab

Yes, Baitz Audiology is proud to support patients with a free 30 day trial to provide peace of mind about a device purchase. The Listening Lab is a supplementary, premium offering to save time and provide a direct comparison for brand aware individuals to understand which device is best for them.

At the end of each Listening Lab session, clients are provided with a copy of their hearing test and a prescription signed by an Audiologist that can be filled at any hearing clinic in Ontario. We're happy to welcome patients from afar, but recognize that distance may prevent us from being the best long-term partner to provide hearing healthcare.

Our 8 speaker array can currently simulate a busy restaurant and conversation in the car. Our system can also play any music or YouTube content you're interested in. We are working towards expanding our library of sounds and are receptive to suggestions!

The Listening Lab can accommodate up to one additional person at a time. While our simulations do offer pre-recorded voices to listen to, it's always better to bring a familiar voice so that the comparison is as fair and natural as possible.

Custom in-the-ear hearing aids require an impression and physical manufacturing, so they cannot be prepared for same-day comparison. The Listening Lab therefore uses behind-the-ear devices to compare each manufacturer’s broader sound and processing approach.A custom device may still sound or perform somewhat differently because of its physical fit, microphone placement, acoustics and available features. We’ll take those differences into account if you ultimately prefer an in-ear style.

We use premium models in the Listening Lab because they provide access to each manufacturer’s broadest feature set during the comparison. That does not mean premium technology is the right choice for everyone.Once you identify the manufacturer or sound you prefer, we can explain what changes as you move between technology levels and whether those differences are likely to matter for your listening needs.
